Hadley - 5 months old

I know I say this every month, but how is it possible you are already 5 months old! The time is going so fast! You are still the best thing that has ever happened to Mommy and Daddy! We love you with all our hearts, you are so happy, sweet, smiley, cute, very observant and curious! We cant wait to watch you explore more and learn as you grow! You are growing so fast, slow down my sweet baby girl!

Clothes: You are wearing mostly 6 months clothes.  I can't believe all the sweet little clothes we have in totes that you will never wear again! I never thought I would be such  a sap about everything, but I cry every time I wash something and know you will never wear it again.

Health: You are a great eater and very healthy, I weighed you and then me earlier this week and it said you weighed 16 pounds. We have not started oatmeal cereal yet, but we are hoping to do that soon, we might also start some veggies later this month, since you are almost 6 months old! You are a healthy and happy baby girl, which is all we ask for!

Diet:   You eat around every 4 hours during the day and you have been going around 6-7 hours in the night, you are strictly eating breast milk at this point, but mommy is pumping at work to give you the milk you need during the day, you take 2 4 ounce bottles while I am at work, then you nurse around 3 other times at night! We had eliminated your night time nursing session, but it seems like it has been back for awhile! I am ok with that, because before I know it you will no longer be nursing and that will make this mommy so sad, I just love our time together!

Sleep:  You are sleeping mostly through the night, you take a few power naps during the day and then maybe a 2 hour nap late afternoon early evening. It seems you are sleeping every night when I get home from work! But you do love your sleep which is a good thing! Hopefully you continue that, this past weekend, you slept through the night 9 hours and then you took a 2.5 hour nap after you nursed that morning! Growth spurt I would say :)

Baby Gear:  You love your play mat, swing, bumbo, all your rattles and the mirror still, you are now loving your Ergo carrier, the exer saucer is becoming a favorite because you are now big enough to sit in it! You love to be busy and you also like to have us hold you and look into the bathroom mirror, you are also loving all the chew toys you have! I also think we have a favorite blanket and a lovey all picked out already! Anxious to see if those things stick or not :)

Likes:  Baths, laying on your back looking in the mirror, tummy time you have really started to love this, now that you know what to do, swinging, sleeping, snuggle time with mommy and daddy, rocking in your rocker, your sister Macy, feeding time, your crib, pacifiers and also car rides!

Dislikes:  Diaper changes, being hungry and also cold diaper wipes, you have now started to not like to get burped!

We took you out of your newborn sling in your bathtub and you love all the extra space so you can kick around and splash with mommy :) You were also baptized this month on March 2nd it was  a great day! You were awesome during church, you slept and smiled when needed :)

Hadley you are seriously the best gift we have ever gotten we love you more and more each day which is hard to believe our hearts are already exploding with love for you! You make us smile and our hearts melt for every smile and giggle you give us!

Happy 5 months Hadley Marie! We love you to the moon and back, I say that being your mommy is the best job I have ever had and it is so true! I wish I was with you everyday all day! Can't wait to see what this month has in store for us!

Love, Mommy

Day 1 at work after 13 weeks of maternity leave.........

I went back to work on Wednesday January 22, 2014, i was suppose to go back on Tuesday the 21st, but I just could not bring myself to leave you! I thought maybe 1 more day would make it easier I think it helped some, but not enough. Well if I say I am not sitting here sobbing as I write this I would be lying. This morning was one of the worst mornings I have had going to work. I really tried to prepare myself to leave you, but it was not easy the drive to work was long and I sat in the car before I came in trying to keep myself together.

As soon as I walked into the office everyone asked how I was doing and I lost it! I started crying right in front of everyone and I am sure the new girl thought I was nuts! I got back to my desk and put my lunch away and got everything turned on, then I wiped down and cleaned everything off because it had been sitting unused for 3 months! (by the way the 3 months I was off were the best 3 months of my life) I decided I was going to pump at 10:00 and 2:00 while at work because those were about the same times as you had been eating while I was at home with you.

My first pump was good, it was around 4 ounces which was good because that it what I needed for you! After I pumped I cried at my desk for a little bit because I just missed you so much, I also love nursing you and I missed that I wouldn't' be able to do that all the time anymore, just on the weekends and the evenings after work. I also was able to facetime your daddy so I could see you, you were sleeping and not missing me at all haha! I know that i say i want to be with you 24/7 right now, but someday you won't want to be with your mommy all the time and i will miss that! I miss your sweet baby smell while i am at work right now!

I was pretty busy in the afternoon, so i didn't think about being gone too much, I had a million emails to go through and also needed to go through my in box,  but once 3:30 hit i was dying to leave and get home and snuggle my sweet little girls! i seriously flew out the door and got home and was greeted at the top of the stair by Macy and you were all smiles for me! Which melted my heart and i of course shed a few more tears because i was so happy you were happy to see me!

I am so thankful for my friends at work who made the day a little easier by being  so nice to me and comforting me while i was sad! I know the days are suppose to get easier as i am away from you, but not sure they will! Maybe once the weather is nice we can spend more time outside and going out and about, you love to shop with mommy and look at the all the stuff at the store, watch out daddy :)

We are so blessed to be able to have the daycare we have, Joe is home with Hadley in the mornings of Monday and Wednesday while Grandma Adams comes over around 2 until i get home around 4:30, on Tuesday and Thursdays Grandma Abernathy is watching her from 9:00-4:30 and then Fridays she gets a day all to herself with her daddy! She is so lucky to have the care that she has! We are so thankful for our mothers!

I survived day #1 away from you, so here is to the next million days i spend at work while you are at home with daddy and your grandmas!

Daddy sent me this picture of you on my first day back! Wildy Cute is right :)

I love you so much Hadley Marie! It breaks my heart every day to leave you and it is not getting any easier, this mommies heart wants to be with you all day every day!

Hugs and Kisses my sweet girl!

5 years since giving Macy her forever home

5 years ago on Friday March 14th, we gave Macy her forever home! That sweet little dog has brought so much joy to our lives I can't even begin to tell you how much I love her, for about 3 years we thought she was going to be our only baby, so she was spoiled and loved the way every pet should be, but to us Macy is not a pet she is our first baby and she is and always will be! We love her even more now that we have Hadley, she is still a little unsure of Hadley, but every day we catch her inching closer and closer to laying by her and trying to sniff her face and lick her, so the time is coming, just slowly!

As for Hadley, she LOVES Macy she stares and her and giggles and reaches for her as she is on the floor, soon they will be the best of friends and they will be snuggling without me :(

One of Macy's favorite things to do, lay in the sun! So cute :)

Another of her favorites, snuggles with Mommy and Daddy!

Hadley is sporting her dog shirt and as you can see Macy gets just so close to her :)

The sweetest picture I have taken yet, Macy snuggled right up to Hadley one night when we were laying bed, it seriously melted my heart, I was crying tears of joy!

Macy hanging with all her friends!

We took this picture of her on her 5 year forever home day, March 14th

Macy we love you so much, you have brought us so much joy, you were there for Mommy when I was so sad and you are also a great dog for helping mommy know when her blood sugars are low, as I had a scare on March 13th, more to come on the blog with that in a few days. We are so proud of you! You are the best big sister to Hadley! Here is to many treats, kisses and walks in your future! Love you Macy, munchies and sweet girl (haha her nicknames!)

Much love,

Mommy and Daddy!

Hadley- 4 months old

4 months already! How is this possible, seriously every month I say  I want you stay this age, but I also want you to slow down, you are growing too fast for this sappy mommy! :) You amaze me every month as your smiles, laughs, coos and milestones amaze me! I am also amazed that you have grown so much just on mommy's milk, which I am so proud of! Being a type 1 diabetic I was not sure if I would be able to breastfeed and I have to tell you I am amazed and so proud of both of us!

4 months have flown by, going to work is still hard every morning, I thought it would get easier but it has not, I still cry and know in my heart I would love to be home with you every day.

Clothes: You are wearing mostly 6 months clothes and some 3 month sleepers still fit you,  I can't believe all the sweet little clothes we have in totes that you will never wear again! I never thought I would be such  a sap about everything, but I cry every time I wash something and know you will never wear it again.

Health: You are a great eater and very healthy, you were 14 pounds 6 ounces and 25 1/2 inches at your 4 month appointment, you are very healthy and doing great, your Doctor said we can try rice cereal whenever we are ready, not sure when we will do this, but maybe in a couple weeks.

Sleep:  You are sleeping mostly through the night, but we are battling a little 4 month sleep regression, you take a few power naps during the day and then maybe a 2 hour nap late afternoon early evening. It seems you are sleeping every night when I get home from work! But you do love your sleep :)

Baby Gear:  You love your play mat, swing, bumbo, all your rattles and the mirror still, you are now loving your Ergo carrier, the exer saucer is becoming a favorite because you are now big enough to sit in it! You love to be busy and you also like to have us hold you and look into the bathroom mirror.

Happy 4 months Hadley! We love you to the moon and back!! I seriously love each month more and more and couldn't be more happier to be your mommy! You make me the happiest mommy in the world! Being your mommy is the best job I have ever been given and I just love it! I couldn't ask for anything better!

Love, Mommy!
